  • What is your skill base? I am a qualified carpenter and maker with an additional skill base in remedial works on wood and plaster. Please see my photo gallery for examples of past work.
  • What can Windsor Eton Handyman do for you? I do general carpentry like fit kitchens, hang doors, fit skirting and architraves. Build garden sheds, decks, box in pipes and
    door easing.
  • Why should I use you?  I genuinely care about doing a good job,  I have many delighted customers and have over 25 years in property developing and
    maintenance.
  • When you say maker what do you mean? Clients often come to me with problems whether it be building a bespoke cat step for the cat flap or making a bedroom sign out of vintage cinema letters from ebay.
  • What remedial works do you do? I fix holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, also damaged wood, internal or external. This can be done as insurance work or if you are making good on a property before renting or selling. As a carpenter I fix a lot of broken treads on staircases, door easing and works on garden gates and decks.
  • Do you do painting and decorating? Yes, its often tied into my remedial work.
  • Can I see examples of your work? Yes in my gallery, every photo on WindsorEtonHandyman.co.uk is of work that I have carried out for clients (copyright G Chenery-Owen Photography).
  • Do you fit kitchens? Yes, you can see some of the completed kitchen jobs in my gallery. I also fit Bathrooms.
  • Do you hang pictures, TV's and fit blinds? Yes, all the time. I also do commissions for art gallery's and work for the shops and offices in and around Windsor.
  • Do you charge VAT? No, the cost you see is the cost you pay as I am a sole trader.
  • Are you insured? Yes I have Liability Indemnity insurance.
  • Can you give me a cost over the phone? Where possible I try to give a cost over the phone, otherwise I will come out to do a free estimate.
  • Do you charge by the hour? No, that's proven to be expensive for the customer and stressful for the tradesman. Fixed prices give everyone a clear understanding of how much the works will cost.
  • Are you expensive? No when compared to other tradesmen in the area, my prices are less per day for longer listed hours.
  • Do you ask for money up front? Generally no, but if we are buying a lot of material then yes.
  • Is there a cancellation fee? Generally no, but if work has been commissioned and materials used/ bought then there is a fee for time and possibly materials used (please see my terms and conditions)
  • How can I pay? You can pay by bank transfer (the details are on my estimates and invoices) or cash, you will still get an invoice.
  • Do you work weekends? Yes I can, but I generally work weekdays, please call if you need something done at the weekend.
  • What areas do you serve? Windsor, Eton, Maidenhead, Slough, Datchet, Ascot, Henley although I have been known to work as far as London and Reading, so if you are not sure give me a call.
  • Who do you work for? I work for a broad spectrum of clients from the shops and offices and estate agents in Windsor and Eton to residential home owners  
  • Do you make bespoke items? Yes TV cabinets, Radiator covers, shelves etc. I also get requests to resize IKEA cabinets into bespoke cabinets to fit into difficult spaces.
  • Do you charge for estimates? No.
  • Do you do property renovations? Yes I work with small and large property developers, estate agents and landlords.
  • Do you work alone? Yes, but like all good tradesmen I know other tradesmen that can be used where required.
  • Do you do electrical and plumbing work? Yes I do some electrical and plumbing work, but I am not a qualified electrician or plumber.
  • Are there any jobs that you don't do? I don't do drains, roofing work, pest control or rubbish clearance.
  • Is there anything that you do that's not on your website? Yes, I do consultations and problem solving on remedial works and issues for landlords and property developers.
